Have you checked the vacuum pipe that runs across the back of the engine, it tends to get crispy & perish, mines been sorted with a length of brake pipe to prevent further issues.

Worth checking is the oil cooler in the gearbox as I had this on a TD4 and ended up with water in the oil luckily I caught it before it got bad and drained and flushed the oil and refilled the gearbox & IRD. I also by passed the oil cooler and have had no further issues with the cooling system.

Low fuel pressure where ? low pressure or high pressure sensor ?

Thanks for the suggestions Nodge68 , bit the bullet and ordered a cam sensor ( cheapest option €37 ) fitted and problem solved now starts hot and cold, checked immediately on return after a 40 mile warm-up run and 15-20 mins later after a heat soak. Fired up first time both times.

Hi Guys Long time since I was on here ( nearly 12 months since last post ), I have an annoying problem in that my 2001 freelander 1 is refusing to start intermittently. When starting it usually fires immediately the key is turned and runs without problems, but recently it has refused to start...

My current 01 TD4 has 225K on it now and is going like a good un, I am currently looking to upgrade to a newer one maybe 04-06 just because the insurance co is squeezing older models over 15 yrs old ( wanted € 900 this year )

Hi Guys Just had a similar issue with very slow pick-up on my 01 TD4 which turned out to be the turbo boost valve vacuum pipe ( as Joe_h and Nodge68 both suggest ) which was perished at the connection to the boost solenoid ( at bottom rear of engine looking from the front ) and some of the rest...

If you know where / who it came from a phone call may save you some hunting round and tell you more about the real what / why the pinion was removed ...... maybe a leaking seal ?

Sounds to me like you have a broken earth in that door or its wiring, you could try earthing the motor earth to a good point on the body and check if your motor works as your window motor is earthed via the lock switch which also sounds to be iffy.

Drivers door not unlocking is a common fault, actuator in the lock has probably packed up replace the lock should fix the problem

The Hazard switch only lights up when the lights are on, the switch doesn't change brightness or go on / off when activated.

Only that type wont fit in the space available
