Before talking about solenoids and valve body, how is the change to reverse? and how is the change from 5 to 4, 4 to 3, 3 to 2 ?

Look for the rave manuals. In any case the sensor can only be seen from above not from below. Look for an electrical wire headed down that way.

There are two coolant temperature sensors in the NAS V6. One near the thermostat housing. The other sensor is in the bottom big hose going to the radiator. The cable shielding to the main coolant sensor often falls to pieces as shown below. Old cable: Same cable after wrapping silicone tape:

I use a elm327 wifi and dashcmd but torque on android should give you coolant temperature.

Hello fellow Canadian owner of a Freelander! Does you odb2 code reader report the engine temperature (coolant temperature)? Is so what is it? My thermostat had failed shut in mine, but it looks like I changed it just in time.

Base on what you say I would do a pressure test or I would look at the reverse piston to see if it has a hairline crack on the surface.

Do you mind starting your own thread about what transmission problems you are seeing ? I find it makes it easier to track.

If you read the posts I highlighted from the Rover 75 boards, there is lots there to make your own decision. Both use the same plastic manifold.

that sucks hearing that gear change are worst since changing that solenoid. Did you think about doing an hydrolic pressure test on gear change? How are the shift from 3 to 4? 4 to 5? 5 to 4? 4 to 3?

I see you have a V6. Always check coolant level weekly on the V6. The first spot I would look at for coolant loss on a V6 is in the V of the engine near the thermostat housing. There could be other places too. Let us know if you want to investigate yourself, we can advise more. Same...

Thanks to your intro post I confirmed you have a v6. It willnot case damage to the engine, it is just the amount of air coming in will not always be optimum. I run mine without fixing it. It is roughly 20 more hp to have the manifold chamber and both vis motors working correctly, great...

So you are using the original ECU/CCU pair ?

You say replaced the engine, what exactly was replaced? The block and head? Anything electric at all?
