    Fuel pump refitting

You make it sound so easy! This is what i was doing... Will give it another shot tomorrow.

    Fuel pump refitting

I've got the tab in the right place. So it is a case of pushing the pump down whilst simultaneously trying to engage the locking ring?

    Fuel pump refitting

Ta. Am I right in thinking that before the locking ring, the pump doesn't sit flush down in the hole? Ie the rubber washer makes it sit up and it's the locking ring that forces it down and in? I can turn the ring easily but it's fekking hard to get it to engage.

    Fuel pump refitting

Been trying to swap the fuel filter on my 2004 FL1. Did everything up until refitting it. I cannot for the life of me get it back in and get the locking ring back on. I have been pushing absolutely as hard as I dare but I don't want to break anything. Everything looks to be reassembled...

Just found this from another thread: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PqN31PpuK3I... where did he get that locking ring removal tool from?

    V6 Sudden Power Loss

Hi Nodge. Can I just check something - on the V6 is there just a fuel filter in the tank accessed under the rear seat? Have just ordered this: Famous Four - Part Information for FF005454 - Fuel Filter - Freelander 1998-2006 Models is that right? do i need anything else and is it a big job to...

    Weird engine misfire/idle issue

There's not much on the forums about these two. P1605 seems to be a generic fault. P1844 looks more interesting - is the "engine speed sensor" a replaceable part?

    Weird engine misfire/idle issue

Pulled both barrel connectors apart this morning. The internals of the connectors look fine. The cables coming out the ends are a bit gunked up. Gave it all a decent soaking in ACF 50 and reconnected. Will check how it drives later.

    Weird engine misfire/idle issue

Reading through various threads, tends to point initially at the loom for the gearbox... This may arbitrarily make sense as it SEEMS the problem is more prevalent when the car is in gear rather than neutral. And definitely worse in reverse. Might pull apart the gear connectors and see what...

freelander td4 auto gearbox non start

I have this exact combo of faults on a V6 petrol. Did you get to the bottom of it?

    Weird engine misfire/idle issue

OK, so this continues to torment me. As far as I can tell on the whole things are fine. But the engine is definitely down on power. The weird "crack" through the stereo only occurs when the engine is running (i.e., not with power on) so it definitely feels like it's electrical. The way it...

    V6 Sudden Power Loss

I definitely need to do the fuel filter on my v6 I think!
  16. W

    Hmmm suspect me thinks...

At least it's not on for stupid money. Despite all the info not tying up, £200 is just about right for it. Wouldn't pay any more though.

Looking to buy a Freelander help and advice needed

Book on that fully restored at best will be around £1500. I can't see you spending less than a grand getting it good again... And then what else? LAND ROVER FREELANDER KALAHARI TD4 | eBay

Looking to buy a Freelander help and advice needed

In my opinion it's not worth it at 500 with that amount of damage and that age. It's prime time on that car for expensive things to start breaking. I was in the exact same position as you about 4 months ago and I bought a 2003 Kv6 with no damage for 450. I quickly spent 300 before the...

OSR Window stuck Open HELP PLEASE!

Definitely replacement reg if you can find one but not planning to do the work yourself. They're more than a repair kit but half the time to fit so cheaper at the garage. If you are doing it yourself then the repair kits are ok but the extra for the new reg is probably worth the skin you'll...
