Hi out there can any body help,i have a Freelander TD4 auto in my possession which has broken down (long story) recovered freelander non runner & no gears dashboard indicator switching from f to 4 can hear fuel pump working & engine cranking ok. tried different scanners but wont communicate but can access auto codes which are P1605 EEPROM error flag set & P1844 Engine ERM error flag set.
having the vehicle for several weeks in has started & then run for a few minutes. (when it does start then i have full communication with engine no faults recorded !)I sent the engine ECM to BBA to be checked out & came back no faults found,after refitting ECM the vehicle ran & i done about 25 miles & then died on me,again F4 on dash & no communication with engine ECM!
I have noticed that if when i turn the ignition on the gear select indicates normal
then it starts just fine ? (F4 = non start) Any feed back would be much appreciated as i am at my witts end,Thanks mark
