    Vibration above 40mph

Re CV I am referring to the joint on the front end of the propshaft not the driveshafts to front wheels, mechano=ic and others have described it as a cv joint, iit iis certainly not a UJ terrier

    Vibration above 40mph

Nodge, hanks for reply. yes to all your tyre questions, all good 29psi, newest on rear. Just remembered it is also noticeable when going round a roundabout to the 270 exit and that is below 40. Could the suspected worn cv on front shaft cause this imbalance in rotational speeds? When you...

New servo long brake pedal travel, brakes ok

Nodge & Grumpy, Every image I find for SJB or SJG 000010 has the same orientation of the MC studs and vac inlet and is as per the dual diaphram layout, I did find one which is like mine but I suspect the guy was not using an actual image of what he was selling checked ABS unit as you both...

New servo long brake pedal travel, brakes ok

Thanks here my vin is YA548901 so which part shd I be using my vehicle is a 2000 july, the cross over occurred during 2000 I believe, the supplied SJG100220 is physically quite different to my original and does not brake as powerfully. many supplier databases reflect this with 1996 to 1999/2000...

New servo long brake pedal travel, brakes ok

thanks Nodge, re servo nope, this is the 1st servo change I have had the car from new. Quote "It is possible that the servo is now different and the listing showing the same servo from 96 to 2006 is wrong. The servo changed in ~ 2000 from a single diaphragm to twin diaphragm type. The master...

New servo long brake pedal travel, brakes ok

Nodge 4 images attached from microcat, 2 are front discs two are servo both pairs say from 1996 to 2006, the only way to determine which of each of the 2 parts to use is the chassis number but one of each pair starts at no 0000001 the other ends at 999999 ie 1st to last chassis number so there...

New servo long brake pedal travel, brakes ok

I will do those tests again tomorrow and make as per your advice. re servo the original was dual seam ans I believe pt no was sjb000010, but LR and other databases now quote SJG 100220 as the correct part for 1996-2007. yes master cylinder mounts same.

New servo long brake pedal travel, brakes ok

just checked microcat and they give the part number for the single diaphram (sjg100220) as 1996 to 2007, landrover's new system does the same so is a possibility the new servo is duff as opposed to wrong

New servo long brake pedal travel, brakes ok

Hi All, back again, eventually got the servo braking somewhat better but am still not happy but this might just be to my memory failing . If I brake hard on a dry road the nose will dip and I will come to a halt no skidding noise but ABS does not come on and I am sure it used to, if I brake...

    Tyre Advice

I have 2000 model from new, I recall getting there being an addendum to hand book to tyre pressure from 30 to 26 because the fronts were wearing out very quickly at 30, and at some point the sticker inside the door was changed, so mine have always run at 26
