The BECM to EDC code is fixed on all versions.It is only the Fob to Becm code that rolls.

The security relearn only works on the Gems V8

Has anyone connected a diagnostic tool to your vehicle and been able to access the BECM to read its status.? If the BECM has gone into "Lock out mode" then you will not be able to access it with any diagnostic tool.Direct connection to the CPU board is the only way to unlock and reset the BECM.

MY96 shouldnt have friendly resync.So If you disconnect the RF receiver and then enter the EKA code the vehicle should start then..But if the switch in the door fails then you will have an issue.Always best to have a working FOB and mechanical key with working door switches as they are a backup...

What MY is your P38.if it has "friendly resync" then you have to have the receiver working.

The CPS may be an Hall effect type that switches a open collector/Grounded emitter Trans which simply applies an GND input to the ECM.Might not see anything on a DVM but will on a scope.:confused:

If you change the processor board in the BECM it will have its own security code which will be different from the code in your engines ECM and therefore the engine will not start.As your engine is GEMS you will have to have equipment like TEStbook to put the engine ECM into security learn mode...

Did you flush out and clean the reservoir when you repaired the pump?. If not the muck in there has probably contributed to the colour of the brake fluid.
