    It appears I have a DEAD BECM......Possibly......

Datatek is correct, you cannot access a BECM with diagnostics if it is in an alarmed state.

    RF receiver

If you have a GEMs you could try one of these Mobi-Lize

    4.6 won't start

Definitely turning over too fast.No compression symptom.Sounds just like my daughters car when the cambelt snapped.(none interference engine)

    4.6 won't start

If flex plate is cracked ,it can damage the CKPS,which will lead to erratic /intermittent performance. The P38 has no backup mode for CKPS failure, the motor simply stops or sometimes runs erratically/intermittently.

    RR Diagnostic

Good luck, many have tried and failed. The chap who sells the Allcomms, has basically given up trying to crack the P38 protocols.try emailing him and chat to see the difficulties he encountered. His website is http://www.rswsolutions.com/:D

    replacement alarm

I doubt it has been removed as it is an intergral component of the BECM.It probably has been disabled in the BECM settings. You will need a diagnostic tool to read and change the BECM settings and probably purchase a new remote from a LR dealership.

    imobiliser problem

Sounds as if the BBS Sm035 module is needed to unlock and reset BECM. Contact Rick ,he is the man to do that.

P38 4.6L intermittently cutting out & not restarting for 10 mins

I would vote for Crank position sensor.

p38 key code lockout stuck on...

As Wammers said get a Diagnostic tool to input data to the BECM.If however the BECM has gone into "Alarmed Lockout Mode" then it will need to be removed and unlocked and reset with direct cpu access via BBS Msv with SM035.

    Think what?

    Beware

I have a P38 and a Freelander 2 and both are great vehicles. There is nothing wrong with the Evoque for the market that LR designed for.I personally dont like it being branded as a Range Rover, but as a marketing strategy it certainly has worked for LR.:D

    Speed sensor A

Forum members are very knowledgeable, but not clairvoyant:rolleyes:

    Speed sensor A

What do you mean "gasket". The P38 speed info is gathered from the ABS wheel sensors and then processed via the ABS ecu and BECM,which may well be the reason your ABS light is on. I doubt if a low idle has anything to do with this:confused: fault.

Has your BCEM got insomnia? Mine had and here’s how I know…

You are probably right.A combination of a very narrow band filter and a universal P38 code.I seem to remember the sub frequenicies are about 25khz apart.

Be interesting to know how the RF receiver checks the Fob code as they are universal and do not have to be programmed to your fob and can be swopped between vehicles.

    Britpart/ lynx- diagnostics

Looks interesting.Available from mid April. The price may well be the clincher But as it is aimed at the Home user as well,it should be competitive with Hawkeye,Nanocom etc:cool:
