Drove to Scotland and back this weekend, 2000 TD5 Auto, three people on board and the rest of the car filled to the roof with inflatable canoes and camping gear (entire boot and half of back seat folded). Also driving in high winds for most of the journey. Got just ever so slightly under 25...

It's worth doing a search as there are TONS on posts on this - rather than repeating it all here, you'll probably find everything you need to know. Probably just a leak in the bag on the left hand side. Easy to replace. If you search there's indtructions on how to change bags, etc.

You'd be surprised what you can get from B&Q - They have wide-track quite heavily rated runners and all sorts of bits (Well, the Chester one does at least). Worth a look.

Many thanks... Now this is weird. I'll have to go and check the ACE light - I don't think it comes on. I know I have all of the torsion bars, anti-roll bar links etc. But I guess they would be there even without ACE. I don't think I have all of tose pipes on the offside though...

Weird one... Was reading the Haynes manual last night (as you do) and it said ACE equipped cars have a double steering fluid reservoir (with two caps - it showed a photo). My Adventurer-spec TD5 is supposed to have ACE but only has a 'normal' single steering reservoir? Do you think this was a...

Don't think so - but could be persuaded for a 14ft speedboat with outboard motor ;)

This is normal, it goes into final gear/lock-down at 53MPH once the car has warmed up sufficiently. Mine goes when the temp needle hits half way. You'll have to just back off a bit until your car warms up! Torque converter lock-up is a state an auto box goes into where all of the 'slip' coming...

...it's all down to the additives (or lack of!)...

I think some kits do come with a gasket to go between plate and block. Mine didn't. James

Upon searching, I found that this only seems to apply to Range Rover P38A compressors, where the compressor and valve block are dealt with as separate parts... unless anyone can prove me wrong! James

Tried to get under it today to soap test the valve block - got the cover off easily enough but can't really access anything :mad: Reckon I'll have to take the whole compressor off or just get it up on a ramp??

Morning all, Does anyone know if it is possible to buy just a replacement valve block for the SLS and not the whole compressor? Can't find one anywhere but I am now 90% sure that my sagging rear-end :eek: is due to a leaky/faulty valve block, and not leaky bags, or faulty height sensors. Can...
