I've been offered a cracking brand new winch at a 60% reduced price from a neighbour in a tight spot (keeping details to myself for now).Does anybody have actual experience of running a 24v winch in a 12v Defender without resorting to converting the winch to 12v? Wondering if it's possible...

Just to update. Found they are actually wider arms despite it being 200tdi. Treating myself to some Adrenaline 4x4 front and rear arms. When I called them, the guy was the most helpful, straight talking person I've dealt with in a while. Kind of sealed the deal for me actually.

A little Avon SR4 rib...not the usual faded, tatty crap though. A very nice one. So the radius arms.... Everybody refers to bush size when quoting figures...but are the actual arms wider (measuring across at axle end)??? Just want to know if I can just measure across to easily determine...

Some online info suggests my model must be narrow, some suggests mine may actually be wide? But I cant decipher exactly what/how to measure as lots of conflicting advice and figures.

It was more the prop I was wondering about. Need a double cardon front and have been offered really high quality one but its for sailsbury front axle so was just wondering if its an easy task to make it fit ie...just spacer etc? Or if it would be a nightmare?

Why not just keep it as a defender but add some classic hints like galv'd bits, 2 piece doors etc etc. The standard black vinyl seats etc. Lot easier and will keep it saleable in future.

Well success finally arrived. I was putting hinges on the same way they had been on. Assuming it was correct. Looked closely at a few pics of hinges fitted on mine...then noticed mine were opposite to every PIC I spotted. Reversed\switched them and hey presto....fitting well. Not perfect but...
