Just thought i would update Stil not got car back yet head is on they were just doing the injectors with the computer hope to have it back tomorrow. there also blocking egr valve off so fingers crossed

Sounds like a 300tdi with a air lock in the system all you need to do it to bleed it and they should come warm but you need to investigate where its pulling the air in from it is usually the p gasket on the water pump nothing major.

Now think got head sorted may be ready to pick up tomorrow. Any more ideas on the other problems anyone

When i had my 300tdi it was like that at first had it serviced and also egr Valve blanked off and was vast improvement

Yes will check the steel dowels. the firm who is doing it is spencer recons from bradford they have a web site

Ok cheers for that was it a new head or recon the garage where mine is is fitting a recon and its a grand supply and fit and there a memebr of the engine remanufacters thingy and specialise in rebuilding land rover engines

how much did your new head cost you pastmaster

i Think i have your car as the last 3 letters on my reg plate is JCB

I posted same had my car in garage as i was suffering same problems as you and they found a problem with the head

Will see what that costs me before i even ask them to look at anything else they say if it needs a new head itwould be in the region of £1000 fitted plus vat for a reconditioned one does this sound ok

Taken it into garage today there taking head off as it seems there is something wrong with it

Hi had my latest landrover Discovery GS for 3 monthes now its a year 2000 W reg has done 94000 miles its a 7 seater Auto. Firstly its losing water ever so gradually prob put about a litre and a half in over the last 3 monthes there are no signs of a leak but when its on tick over at traffic...

I got mine off ebay brand new there usually available on there for a nominal fee
