My in-laws disco 300ti is absolutely the slowest thing on the road, its fine when the turbo kicks in but up until the turbo its pants.
It even revs up slow in neutral until like I said the turbo kicks in, I read a thread about the lift pump but am still learning on discos so have no clue on the matter so if anyone could come up with the answer I would very grateful.

Now strip and clean the turbo pressure compensator on the injection pump.
It isn't a big job ... just a few screws and clean the bits and bobs inside.

This was also done when the car was purchased only a few months ago, having driven another 300tdi that went like stink compared to it, it is annoying especially when i drive it.
As for the turbo pressure compensator where on the pump is it?

i had similair when i first bought mine, cleaned out the sediment bowl and changed the lift pump and that cured mine.

Once you've done the sedimenter, the lift pump and the filters, if that doesn't do the job try the boost compensator.

It's a alloy casting, sticking out of then injection pump, sort of flat and round-ish, top cover held on by a few screws. Take out the screws and lift off the cover. The bits inside SHOULD be clean, and perfectly free to move in and out. Make sure the little pipe to the lid is in good order too.
