ABS + TC + HD Amber Lights come on??

WOW!!!! If every procedure had that detail, we would never need to visit a Stealer ever again!!!! That puts even the early Haynes manuals to shame. Thanks for that but if I have to do that I think I would just get one off ebay for £50 and try it..

    Discovery 2 EGR removal/blanking

Cheers David! I will do those when its warm enough out there to feel my fingers!!!!! Though I will have to look up how to do the de-cat as I hadn't heard that was possible till I saw this thread. I tow 2.5 tonnes with my two horses in the van so extra oomph is welcome..though the power...

    Discovery 2 EGR removal/blanking

Hi Can you just indulge me on this a while, cos I am interested particularly as you seem also to be in France......would you apply your assertion on there being no issues regarding MOT also to the CT here in France? Is there not a chance it will fail on emissions with the EGR removed?

    TOTAL MYSTERY Coolant Loss!!!!

Yes it does have airlocks..but where is the water going as its not out of the overflow??? I filled it this morning and revved the engine; lots of bubbling up so level dropped. Repeated this, and used air bleed screw, with heater on full until steady level and system full (2 litres...

    TOTAL MYSTERY Coolant Loss!!!!

Yes thats a good suggestion, but unfortunately it's not the tank, and oddly, there is never any sign of a leak...I once topped it up and left it running at 1500rpm on the drive for an hour, jammed a stick on the accelerator... then stopped the engine, let it cool, checked the tank...it wasn;t...

ABS + TC + HD Amber Lights come on??

Thank you.....didn't realise it had the quirky nick-name.. have found it better in the search now......but JESUS!!!!!!! Where do you start??? everything seems possible from scrap the car to a simple flat tyre:):) I am assuming from most posts that just ignoring it is also an option..think I...

    TOTAL MYSTERY Coolant Loss!!!!

No I have not checked the pump because it is well below the level that the coolant settles out at..if it were a leak below that level, the coolant would continue to drop...it doesn't...it drops VERY quickly to the botttom of the resevoir, a loss of well over a litre in just a few miles of use...

    D2 Air Suspension Gremlins

Its possible its a problem with the solenoid air valve to that bag exhausting the air in the bag to atmosphere. Its in the main box with the compressor and an easy way of checking it (and to see if its any other part of the system specific to just that side) is to simply change over the pipes...

    TOTAL MYSTERY Coolant Loss!!!!

Cheers.. I will do that first. Not quite sure what you mean by your method as I was just going to use a couple of jaw clamps on the pipes to squash then shut - did you mean to use the copper pipe between outlet and return on the engine side so that the coolant is still circulating but the...

ABS + TC + HD Amber Lights come on??

Hi The ABS, traction control and hill decent lights have started to come on (all together) whilst driving. They stay on until I turn the ignition off and then if I start up again, they are gone...until sometime later whilst driving. Doesn't coincide with applying brakes...is it a faulty ABS...

    TOTAL MYSTERY Coolant Loss!!!!

I have just thought......CAN I CLAMP OFF THE INLET AND OUTLET HOSES TO THE HEATER MATRIX WITHOUT AFFECTING THE REST OF THE ENGINE COOLING?? Don't want to bugger-up the engine. That would at least allow me to eliminat ethe heater matrix as the problem

    TOTAL MYSTERY Coolant Loss!!!!

I did a pressure test myself and it does not retain pressure - but then as you rightly said, it has to be leaking somewhere so you wouldn't expect it to pressure test ok.I suppose I need to get it pressure tested by a agrage that can then search for where its losing pressure?

    TOTAL MYSTERY Coolant Loss!!!!

Hello everyone Try this teaser...!!! I am hoping someone out there has actually had an identical problem, cos, nobody has managed to solve it yet Since i had my td5 (2yrs and 30,000km) the coolant level in the header stays right at the bottom. It runs perfectly, thermostat always spot on...
