Hi all, excellent replies again thanks, unfortunately as mine is a disco, the seat runners on the inner side attach to the floor, so nothing to cut down  Maybe I will try Exmoor trim, but kind of hoped this had been seen before and someone had had a lightbulb moment....:D

Hi Snowey, you are right, seat all the way back, and leaned back helps, but could still do with a couple of extra inches, of windscreen height that is ;)

Oops forgot to do a search, sorry all..... Now I have, I see all sorts of posts on the subject of lifts, blimey, it's like oil all over again!! :D So it appears that with age my springs may have sagged a little:o, and it may cause issues to put in a 2" lift, though it may not, but as I do not...

Well thanks soooo much for the replies, I knew I could count on you all!! for laughs (my toenails are fine and it's just too cold to keep on poking my head out of the sunroof) and the sensible, Smarty1972, love your idea!! Could someone please tell me what 'fitting a 2" lift to the front'...

    Too tall

Hi all, looking for some inspiration, anyone seen any? I seem to be a bit too tall for my lovely new 300tdi  I'm 6'6" and when '1 up' I have very limited distance vision without ducking down a bit When I load her up the back drops and all is well, well much better anyway, so here are my...

    Bio diesel anyone?

Oh yes, my mate's mum used to work for them, her crew used to tear peoples houses apart looking for stuff, and just walk away. At least the police have to put stuff back the way they found it (supposedly), tread careful indeed.... Very interested in home brew, will do some searching.....

    New head unit

Hi discool, thanks so much, that is exactly what I was after, looks like I can go for something with a single pre-out (thanks for defining what that is) Looking around the vehicle it appear to have 2 tweeters, 2 front door speakers and 2 rear pillar speakers, plus the boot door sub Will 4 x 50w...

    New head unit

Fab thanks pal, tell me was redhand having a bad day? It sounds like I need to buy a unit with a pre-out (whatever that is) so I can use it with the patch lead I make up? Another thought, the wonderful array of stereo buttons on the dash will of course no longer work, not that I necessarily...

    New head unit

Hi all Just become the proud owner of a '98 300tdi Discovery Safari This model seems to have a good sound system, but the head unit is a bit dated, and I want to be able to use my ipod rather than the cassette, oh and the cd changer is not working, which suits me as all my music is on the ipod...

    300tdi oil change intervals

Guess you could say 6000 miles at an average of 40mph = 150 hrs? So 150 hrs at 10mph = 1500 miles, thus Tuskenraider's idea of every 1000 miles makes sense Also depends on the oil of course, but let's not go there
