I always thought the yolks on a prop shaft where supposed to be in line however having taken the front prop off my 300TDI to change a UJ I as surprised to see they are a little off set between the diff end and the gearbox end. Is this normal or has someone been messing about with them in the...

Not really as it was only worn on 2 lugs/pins the other 2 are perfect which is why I missed it earlier. The 2 worn ones must be down by 25% or more and the needle rollers? Well, there's no cup let never mind rollers:eek:!

Ok the strange noise had nothing to do with the auto box it was in fact a collapsed universal joint on the front prop shaft at the gearbox end.

I have a strange noise, a cherpping or rubbing noise coming from my 300TDI at present. At first I thought it may be a stone trapped in a wheel or brake however I'm not convinced as it's not there all the time when driving. What's happening is no noise while stationery, the noise only...

Can you drive safely with flat bags and is there a max speed and distance you should drive? What's the ost o replaements?

It's funny in some ways as I came on here tonight to ask the same question. I had a rear tyre blow out on a dual carriageway this afternoon, when it went it took out the rear wing.

No nothing moded or uprated, tyres are not cathing the arches and can't remember what the pressure actually is but I set them at what the book says they should be.

Is this because your front windos didn't work?

Yes I thought about that however when I got it the tyre ear seamed to be quite even across the tread. I've done 9k since then and it just seams odd! The back end doesn't feel firm either when cornering at speed so..........

The rear tyres on my 300TDI seam to be wearing badly on the outside edge:( as in bald :eek:for the first section of tread which must be about 30 - 40mm (1.5"). As far as I know there's no tracking adjustment on the rear axle so can anyone explain why this might be??? Is it beause the tyres...
