Thanks for the replies. My Landy has actually only done 24k miles, but it's technically due a 48k miles service according to the schedule. Does it make any difference given that I haven't actually covered 48k miles?

Yup, same 'problem' with my TD4 too when cold. Saying that, I don't really see it as a problem and thought it was perfectly normal - simply waiting for the engine to get up to temperature? I'm not fussy about it at all, but should I be......?

Thanks for the reply Steve. It's the facelifted model I have and, according to the instructions, there's various bits of drilling into the bumper required, along with taking out parts of the bumper with a saw to enable the internal fittings to sit into it. It seems straightforward...
