Sounds like the one I got from LR dealer, had to buy a modified loom to make it fit.

The hydraulic release bearing is actually the slave cylinder and would expect it would have been changed when clutch was done. Ours went a few weeks ago and , clutch pedal flat to floor wouldn,t return but when I put fluid in master cylinder it came running out between bellhousing and engine so...

Most likely brake switch at pedal, had same symptoms the other week and new switch solved it.

Went with stock mounts, any idea what sort of time I should allow for changing these ?

Has anyone used DURAFLEX Polyurethane bushes or should I just stick wit stock bushes.

Just done clutch and slave on 2004 TD4. Used LUK gear and all fine. Also used LUK clutch on my Transit wich was supplied by my local Ford franchise so wouldn't doubt the quality.

Replacement gearbox arrived today so that's tomorrow tied up, fingers crossed.

Selecting it from top of gearbox and can feel it going into gear. No funny noises as it does not drive the cv shafts.

Changed clutch on 2004 TD4 but now the car only drives in 5th and reverse gears. 1234 can be selected ok but when I let the clutch out no drive to the wheels? When I select 5th or reverse and let clutch out the wheels turn fine which makes me think the clutch is ok ? Any thoughts greatly...

Got it, seems allright, does have vcu fitted and felt it after running about 20 miles, no heat (phew).Drove it home 180 miles not a glitch.Will give it a good going over tomorrow get some pics and post them up.

If vcu feels faulty would you buy?

Going to pick up 2004 Freelander TD4 Commercial 117,000 tomorrow and looking for any advice on serious points I should be aware of and check out before parting with the readies. John.
