Got a new clutch fitted on my 03 TD4 about 3k miles ago. When reversing, I select Reverse ( obviously), but when moving backwards; the gear occassionally disengages. Any thoughts?

Is the electromagnetic clutch a separate part? The guy that looked at it did refer to the clutch not engaging, but i assumed that it meant the whole compressor was goosed. Thanks

Air Con hasn't been blowing cold, so took it in to be filled. Been told that there is pressure, but the compressor isn't functioning - not switching betwen high and low pressure. They think I need a new compressor - am I right in thinking these are around 500 quid !! It's a 2003 TD4

New clutch fitted on my TD4 ES 2003 about 5 months ago, but I often have problems selecting reverse. You think you've selected it - but nothing, then it sometimes appears to "pop out". Any thoughts to the cause of the problem? Thanks

Thanks for your help - only had the FL for a few months and, from review of the serice book and associated invoices that I've been passed, it doesn't look like there's been a lot of regular servicing going on. I'll get in in for a service this week and make sure the crankcase breather filter...

Since mine ( TD4 2003) came back from the local expert, I've notice oil spots on the driveway. It was in for a new clutch - engine out to gain access. The pipe that receives the dipstick had a build up of oil on it - also looks like oil has been hitting the fan - resulting in a nice oil...
