I've found a lace in London that say they will do a reconditioned auto gear box with a 6 month written warranty for £850.00 fitted. They seem to be a transmission/gear specialist company.

So do you think its worth having the gearbox oil changed? Could this possibly fix the problem, or does it ean that I have to go and get the gearbox replaced? I dont soppose Lucas Stopslip would help would it?

I Couldnt see it on it, it just had oil & coolant on the service book

Just checked them and it was serviced last year about 6000 miles ago.

It was around 86,000 and well looked after with lots of service history, I will have a look in the docs when I get home.

So Does anyone think it would be a good idea to have the transmission fluid changed, before I end up having the gearbox replaced / rebuilt at the cost of around 1500+ I cant see how it would just stop working so quickly with no indication that there was a problem, whenever ive had gear issues in...

The black oil was the engine oil, which to be honest is the same colour that it was when I bought it. The colour of this has nothing to do with the transmission fluid does it?

When I said that the oil was black, I meant the engine oil. With regards to the autobox oil, I couldn’t tell you as its not a user serviceable thing is it? Would it be worth me having the oil changed, before I go and have the autobox replaced etc.

I Have checked the oil today which is Black, so I assume that that needs changing, all the other fluid levels seem okay. Its strange that this should just happen with no indications isnt it? The car runs fine in all forward gears.

None at all, I've had it about 4 months, and its run fine up until now. Problem only started on Friday evening. Deosnt look like anything has leakled onto the drive, and i cant see any signs of fluid leaking under the car.

Just Checked, and the R is on the dash. Its almost as if its in neutral, then it struggles to pull backwards.

I have a td4 Auto, which has just developed a problem with reverse. All the forward gears work fine, but since yesterday, when I put it into reverse there is no power and it struggles to reverse. There has been no warning, it just happened. Does anyone have any ideas as to what this may be?

Would a single wire effect the whole rear of the car? I fitted a parrot MKI9200 at the weekend, now when I reverse the parrot mutes and the CD player/Radio is played. Sounds really weird and is driving me mad.. I will need to have a look at it again.

Hi, I have a TD4 HSE with the Harmon Kardon stereo in it. The problem I have is tat the rear spearker sound really low and Tinny. If I use the fade to balance the sound, the front of the car sounds great, but even up full, the rear sounds awful. Has anyone else had this problem, or does...

Couldn’t see any drips above the radiator, looks like its below. There would have been signs if it was dripping from above. If it is fuel it would explain why I'm getting 5mpg :D

Managed to pick up a near perfect one on eBay for £80 fitted it at the weekend, and it's fixed the leak.

It's dripping from the front of the car under the radiator, how can it be diesel? There's nothing that could leak diesel there is there?
