actually discos are rarer here, and a used 200tdi engine would cost a lot compared to a rebuild.

thats a 200tdi right? I dont have any breather apparatus like that... Just the lid on top of the engine.. 2.5 N/A:confused:

thanks for your reply LEE. replaced the engine oil lid with the pipe out, is that what you referred to as the breather? or is there anything else? Still theres oil comin out.

Hi, its me again, Well i have a 2.5 N/A diesel D90 and its been sputtering oil out of the engine oil filler cap for few months. There is also a leak from the rear crank oil seal. My local mechanic tells me that its due to back pressure and replacing piston rings would be enough..:confused...

Yeah hope so. Its quite a difficult country to maintain a Landy, costs... rare spares, lack of knowledge etc..

And what abt the transfer box? ATF there as well?

Whats in the box is called some "90" thing. Its a oil intended for gearboxes and thats what they put here. Its not ATf though, it is definitely not engine oil.. I bet it wouldnt have hurt it much would it?

I am also having the quite same problem as the inlet manifold in mine seems to be getting oil and some oil seems to get out of the breather as well, this maybe due to back pressure from the rings i guess?

most likely to be the fork, the rod from the slave cylinder may have drilled right through it. Make sure you reinforce the new one slightly to make it last longer.
