Yeah, I had looked at them. I figured I'd need to make some sort of bracket. But I wasn't sure what to do about getting the right pulley, or how if I'd be able to then find a belt that was the right length and type. Not sure if they are genuine concerns or not though.

Evening all, The alternator on my 300tdi wolf, is on the way out. Part number RRC8761, it's 24v and I think 50amps I am finding it a struggle to find a replacement for a reasonable price. Does anybody know of a compatible alternative or how realistic a rebuild would be on the original? Cheers Dom

yes, i have a grease gun on order now! started removing the prop shafts today, so far it looks like I got away with not damaging the flange but I'll know for sure when fitting the new UJ's. so fingers crossed.

Thinking it would work quite well in my land rover, the glass breaking was a concern for me too. Although they don't break on the doors the correct way up, so it shouldn't matter in theory. I like bag idea but its more of a faff, which is the thing I wanted to mitigate.

Found this online, interested in how the door tops are being stored, has anyone seen anything like this before? Are they on hinges or are they bolted to the door? any thoughts?

what makes you say that? as far as I can see its just the UJ its self that has broken? or am I missing something?

Morning all. My landy has developed quite a loud cherping noise. The noise only happens when driven while powered, coasting and when idling no noise. But at low speeds particularly maybe up to 30mph the noise is quite intense. I am right in thinking it's a worn UJ? Any thoughts appreciated...

So it operates the solenoids for egr valve then. So if I remove the egr valve I can remove all the components too. Great stuff, thanks alot guys. Help much appreciated as always.

There's two of them attached to some pretty big heatsinks based on my limited knowledge. My landy is 24v and there is power supply board between it and egr box. Something to do with stepping down to 12v maybe?
