Acording to the owners manual you need to select 'N' when you are stopped at lights or for long periods. It gives better fuel economy and puts less strain on the box and brakes.

I think its all normal enough. The fluid will slosh back to the tank. if you took the cap off it it would look frothy. I think its just it being circulated in and out of the steering system.....

The cap may not have locked ( nor does mine ), but it did screw in to form a tight seal on the top of the neck. A locking fuel flap will not stop fuel spilling out of the neck.

The idea of a locking cap is not to stop people stealing the fuel but to stop the fuel coming out while cornering. For MOT your fuel cap MUST seal tight. Push in caps dont do this an it's an MOT failure. The slighted more expensive caps with the turn disc in the middle will seal down tight on...

The push in type filler cap wont pass MOT, it needs to be the one with the locking disc in the middle. Looks the same as the cheap crappy one except it has a bit that turns to lock it down tight.
