It will be difficult to track every last Landy. As already said, I'm sure there are many unregistered vehicles being used on private land. And then there are all the ones that went abroad. Good luck.

I have my 1976 Series III on a Classic Car policy with Footman James. I've used them for Land Rovers & MGB's and they have always been a decent and very competetive company. :cool:

Yeah, still starts fine - well as fine as she does. Put into 1st, and it lurches slightly, doesn't move, then the engine dies. The rear wheels are solid, won't even roll. Basically if it costs more than £250 it's not worth it on this one. And considering it needs to be towed that's...

Broke down Sunday evening on the M5. After an hour it started to snow! Eventually it took the AA contrator 3 hours to turn up, by which time I was nearly passed out through the cold! Did tow me home though - though I thought it was a tad amusing that because the rear wheels had totally siezed...

Following the trouble with the overdrive on my previous car, an MGB, I made sure I bought a Landy without one. That said, in the MG it did change fuel consumption from about 20mpg to 30mpg on the motorway. Not sure what it would do for a Landy, but I didn't buy mine to travel on motorways :)

Well I'm far from an experct on these matters, but I remember my diesel Landy losing power (not being able to go above 28mph) which just turned out to be a fuel filter problem.

Yes, it is... errr... interesting :D A few rough edges, and the inside is a little tatty, but hey, it was cheap. I got stuck on the M40 on the trip back from buying it. London to the West Midlands in SEVEN hours!!! So if it can do that it can't be all that bad :cool:

Found a bad earth from my battery, so I'm hoping for now that's all it was. Started a lot better this morning. So I'll just give it a couple of days see how it goes. As for the CD player, well it's a pretty good anti-shock. I had it in my MGB, another bumpy ride, and didn't skip when...

Actually, yes it was :confused: Had a check today and found one of the earthing wires was loose, so that wouldn't help! I've tightened that up, so I'll see how it goes. I'm planning on wiring in a CD player, so if the battery is weak that'll probably finish it :o

Borrowing spares is probably not an option, but a good suggestion. I'll check the earthing and fan belt tomorrow, cheers.
