Yes, I understand the correct method. However this is the way it currently seems to work. For instance now it works perfect starting in D. However it woulld not have until I started in first. have to buy second hand gearbox. The first has failed.

To be honest I dont really trust this 'p38 magic'! :D I wonder could it just be the oil needing change? I'm afraid to floor it because I reckon it would then fail again? I'm just trying to figure out if I need a new gearbox or can It be saved?

Hello, This evening I went to the car and again no drive in any gear except 1st and Reverse. However once I got going a began to change up manually something which I didnt expect happened. It changed up perfect and has been working perfect since in all gears. How can this be?

After the car has sat for the night, when one puts it into D and revs but moves very slowly. I'm thinking clutch pack too? however what part of the setup is this in? Is it part of the main gearbox? Will the gearbox from a 4.0/4.6 litre fit the jeep? She is a 2.5 Diesel.

Hello, I was driving my RR when all of a sudden I heard a pop. Then their was no drive in D, 3 and 2. Gearbox works in reverse. The gearbox changes into low, and the same only R and 1.... it revs as if it is in netural. What could the problem be?

Whats the easiest way to check if there getting power? There quite hard to get at?

What make Glow plug do you recommend? Delphia, Denso, Bosch?

Glow plugs are thoes from birtpart. So I assume thats the make. Only used easy start twice try to avoid the stuff as best i can. Dont think it's the fuel return lines as they're only new. Any checks I can carry out? thanks

I replaced the leak-off pipes recently however maybe they have been clogged with dirt... I was used a very dirty fuel. Even with half a tank it still struggles to start so maybe that rules out the fuel pump? Last potential problem and most likely cause it starts when hot is the glow plugs?! It...

Hi, I have a RR p38 2.5 Diesel. Recently it's been having lots of starting problems. For instance when hot it will start all day long. Spray abit of easy start down the intercooler and it will start with about 15 seconds of turning. But if either of the above are done it will almost flatten...

Hi, I have a 1996 RR 2.5 DSE Auto. I'm getting very poor fuel consumption roughly, 19mpg to a max of around 21mpg. THis is on runs. I imagine its less around town. I know this is too low for this car. How can I improve this. What do you guys think is wrong? thanks
