Would be nice to have the spare mounted inside the rear roof space towards the back door, anyone done this? or am im missing some painfully obvious reason why this cant be done - I suppose it could be highly dangerous if not done properly.

Im thinking of getting a cross member plate made up, are there any suggestions on what it should be made of, what it should feature and how it should attach. I decided aluminium isnt the best option and will price up some steel, Im really not certain how best to get it to attach though.. ideas...

Finally completed 99.9% of sanding and priming and got rid of the dust coat, now I just have to go over any outstanding niggles and tidy those up ready for finishing.
