Hi all my td5 disco is playing up when you open the door all ignition lights are coming on and then go off when the foot brake is depressed.can anyone shed any light on this. I can also turn the ignition key to the off position and remove the key but the engine continues to run until the brake...

remove the black plastic trim to the left of the clutch and have a look.possibly heater pipe corroded just replaced minewith a new bit of rubber hose ...hope this helps

my bros disco did the same found it to be play in the wheel bearings the movement meant that the abs sensors couldnt pick up a signal .once we packed them with grease and nipped them up all was well ....maybe this is the same fault

try it out i thought that the first time i did my dads an was shown by a mate that all the pistons are half way down the bores when timing is set

note the pistons all sit half way down the bore when at tdc check this by putting a long screwdriver down the plug holes the pistons should all be level .

if the timing is 180 degrees out it will not fire nor damage valves check this out as the pulleys have inlet and exhaust written on each of them

i have a vibration on my 300 tdi but it only happens when pulling away from a junction wit steering slightly turned feels like the gearbox mounting but not sure at all..

i have recently bought a 300 tdi auto and it is great both on and off road a lot more comfy than my old defender

when you fitted the lift kit did you have to adjust anything or was it just a case of swapping the springs over as i am wanting to do the same thanks

if the slve cylinder is or was leaking the garage that fitted the clutch should have picked up on this when they had the gearbox off as i am sure that it is internal.

sorry about that the disco has a new altenator on it so its possible they have disturbed the wiring on the back of the alt cheers

maybee if there are recent invoices for fitting oil seals it could be oil residue from the work being carried out
