Sorry!!! note you have L series ..... same will apply really. But glow plugs will only effect startup and intial running. I believe one glow plug is situated behind or tight against primary fuel pump....and is a complete barsteward to remove......it needs to be done....possibly fuel pump off...

Hi Chaser.....are you saying ... that as ECM controls injectors....which injects via instructed signal..... then there is no connection??? What about the cam sensor.....if the chain stretches then the ECM is getting the wrong cam timing.... so could it be a case of crap information in crap...

Hi my TD4 had passenger side rear brake sieze on - what a bind!!!:doh: I feared the worst and took drum off ..... this was tricky... but a few stiff clouts freed off drum...I was then able to prize and wriggle drum off.:D I thought handbrake cable had siezed ..... but no .... where it attches...

Hi Marky thats what I was told turbo seals........... inlet seals weeping causing small amount of oil ingress. Removing Turbo is a mother of a job ...... It looks like it is a toss up between Turbo and Injectors ...... or both dohh

How much did these injectors cost??? Is starting good with these???

Hi keep us posted ..... I fitted a new vcu and have a some vibration above 50mph ..... although sometimes it vanishes altogether and is super smooth .... strange. When looking at VCU there is only 4 and aft adjustment ..... I was reasonably carefull ensuring the bearing carriers were parallel...

Mines now gone over 120k

Hi how do you change oil in rear diff ..... can you remove one of the bolts....to drain.......and conversley remove a bolt at top to refill???? Any advice????

Spoke to a really experienced mechanic used to working with TDi's ..... he recons mine is due to slightly worn Turbo seals ...... he recon's it's nothing to worry about - unless the car starts to run on. Undo one of the intake hoses from intercooler (the one that goes over engine) and run your...

If oil it will burn badly kinda blue ...... and it wouold cease after a few seconds....or it should do ........ unless turbo seals are giving it just enough oil to continue... What colour is the smoke? does it smell of diesel???

This is 90% to be caused by burning engine oil as fuel. Check/replace breather immediately get BMW vortex type. If this does not cure ... it looks like turbo seals....I know a man who can do just the seals for you .... for around 150 quid ... if you remove turbo for him.
