yeah it has to be pretty good rust proofing, i'll probably end up changing the fluids then just keeping them topped up since.. well.. its not the prettiest car in the world

could be contaminated trans fluid id say at a guess.. and its pretty unlikely unless the breather hose has been removed or was submerged

well yes i looked before i bought it, but im not into pulling fuse boxes open and sliding right under cars when i buy, when i bought it the thing started and ran so i had no reason to worry looked straight from a first look.

ducked out between the showers to look at my disco properly as it wont start, started checking fuse boxes and having a look over it.. Its bodge tastic, a couple of the main fuses in the bay have been bridged with wire where they have blown in the past, there's extra wires hanging around all...

i towed a car on a braked trailer (probably over 2 tons with the trailers weight) with a p38 range rover auto v8, just slap it in D and drive, it'll pull no worries. Only thing i would suggest is take it easy, slow down well before you want to stop as you dont want to have to jump on the brakes...
