pipe is supposed to run from the top of the diff to up alongside the oilfilter housing and vents in the engine compartment, also top end of pipe curves over to prevent water going up ot if you do go too deep.

mine (td6) averages 24mpg (calculated) fill up to fill up on a decent run it can hit 28mpg.

If it's made by landrover when oil stops coming out. , it's empty

I'd look at tracking first proper 4 wheel alignment mine took the outer edge off one of my fronts but the garage reckoned it was caused by the back being way out on one side and constantly steering to compensate , but both inners edges would normally point to them being toe out ??

Valve block will be full of rusty gunk before buying a new one strip it and clean it as the last post says rs2000 did a good write up about it

Recon are about £150 normally I got to from eBay out of a 525d for £40 each and they worked perfectly the one I got done at an indie was £200 fitted for a recon and it lasted exactly 13 months , indie said it was out of the 12 month warranty but he'd change it for the price of another recon one...

the other front one started rattling the other day so cut that one off aswell.

Did this upgrade last year (feb) and whilst servicing the car (10000 miles) today removed it to check how its doing and it was spotless just a light coat oil no gunk like the sponge filter used to get.

changed oil,and the oil,air,fuel filters.

Just before you try a diagnostics give a battery disconnect / reconnect then steering lock to lock a go , it's worth a try , most indies are about £50 for diagnostics or dealers for £80 ....

When the back seats are folded fully forward so the bottom cushions are pointing straight up the dog guard slots into a fitting on the top of the seat base , well that's how it fits on mine , never used it as don't have dogs.

Pipe which goes to the high pressure fuel pump is a common fail due to heat from the engine it's an inlet manifold off to get to it , happened on my td6 and the freelander I had . It's a simple fix

mine does it but sometimes after a short journey then a restart or the odd cold morning , and its a 5 month old batttery not worth worrying about til it starts struggling to crank.

A recon injector is about £120 exchange they are dead easy to change if they come out that is ,only trouble is to remove any of them apart from number one you really need the inlet manifold removed ,a cheaper option is second hand ones ,I used 2 from a 325 d for about £40 each off ebay.

possible one or two of your brakes may be starting to stick after a run feel the wheel centres and see if any of them are a bit warmer than the others, all the gunk and muck on the roads at this time of year ...

Easy job to change the secondary pump and does bleed itself , normally when the secondary pump goes you get intermittent starting but if it's noisy change it they aren't that much, after that might be worth leak doing a leak off check on the injectors
