Have you any idea of how many dangerous pieces of **** are already on the road with no tax, mot or insurance and a lot with no driving license..? An MOT done by anyone isn't worth the paper its on, you could drive to the end of the road and feck up a cv joint, exhaust, shock, spring, tyre...

    What should i do?

Can the garage you took it too not do a "sniff" test ? that'll tell ya in a sec if its the head gasket or not. Any half decent garage capable of doing the head should be in possession of a sniff kit, and any mechanic who doesn't know what one is or how to do one shouldn't be aloud to work on a...

Freelander loses power at 3/12 thousand revs

The 2.0l L series is a turbo charged sohc (unless its one of the earlier ones 98) have alooky under your bonnet, right hand side attached to the exhaust manifold......unless yours is missing that would definitely explain your problem :)

Timing Belt Tensioner Bolt - Not an Allen Head ?

Its the one with the Auto tensioner, I just had another look through the Rave CD and I must have overlooked it first time I'll blame the tiny writting :p "later models Allen bolt was replaced by a hex bolt" The Rave CD doesn't say to replace the bolt, buy haynes does, did you replace it ? Did...

    bio diesel

Kinda and Kinda not so much... the later L Seires also use a Bosch VP37 which after much..much digging isn't very different for the Cp1 used by TD4's : Bosch VP37 is the electronic version of the EP-VE, and shares the same pumping mechanism. As these (Bosch VP37) are basically mechaniclly the...
