What was your landy running like before and what made you change it as ours is idling crap now with low performance.

a argon oxygen co2 mix gets the purest weld and best penetration its whatever your used to but weve got a big murex plant and do alot of welding.

yes thats true but there bottles are only the size of an aerosol can!!

i would go to enweld and get a small bottle and rent it its not to bad. you cant weld with Co2 you want a bottle of energas migweld5

Back again to our rough idling 200 tdi discovery ( it has had new rings, shells and a turbo). its idling rough when cold in the morning and was doing this before a rebuild so the rebuild has not influenced this. when it gets warm its fine but powerless and rough when cold. could this be a lift...

we went from a 2.5 N/A to a 200 tdi discovery engine used to climb a hill in selston we were down to second gear after the 200tdi intall were now in top gear every time. we also cocked up by pullin the 200 out and spending a ton of money putting a 3.9 v8 auto on gas, after chewing the bodywork...

How you got round the exhaust?? used a defender 200 tdi and modified the down pipe is what we did!

we removed one of the studs and re drilled and tapped three others.

pistons definetly correct just had new mounts flywheel wasnt removed, tried speeding up tickover still the same. Note that this vibration was the same before the rebuild!!

we have a 90 with a 200 tdi discovery engine in and its vibrating quite bad on tickover this travels through the whole body. What could be the problem?? Note its just had new rings, shells , turbo and valve re-grind weve also checked the crank pulley and that seems in good order.:confused:

thought so as there were a few copper vans on the entrance road. but they seemed to be pulling up the motorcycles and leaving the landys!

we would still be scratching us heads for a while if we werent on here! the sound it was giving off made us think it was a major gear problem!!!!

Just found out what it was, all bolts correct appart from the reversing light switch which was screwed in to far!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It was a really loud grinding sound for a little bolt:mad: :rolleyes: :p :D

we was a bit confused on bolts but that more than likely is the problem only thing weve done is remove these bolts thats why we cant work it out but it sounds right. many thanks we'll keep you informed thank you again
