Does the battery charge levels affect the alarm system??? Reason why I asked this I just checked the battery and it got a black mark instead of a green mark which to me is weird because the car does over 200 miles a week (from Hereford to Newport)

Sorry, I don't think I was very clear what I meant by battery. I meant the car battery under the bonnet.

Okay, one stupid question...does the mirror control lever have some kind of weird diagram on it? If it doesn't then your Freelander does not support this feature (like mine)
