Righty, I have driven my Freelander off road a couple of times (I only recently been doing this) into fields to deliver bags of feed (25kilos each) for the animals...is it typical to hear 'munching', 'crunching' noises whilst off road???

I have been used to driving my dad's Discovery before to deliver feed for the animals and didn't experience any weird noises with it.

Is it a good chance that my Freelander has never experienced off road drives before I purchased the Freelander a couple of months ago?

Could it be the animals munching and crunching on the feed?
To be honest I would say the vehicle is not used to it and the noise will get easier the more you use it. Remember when off road you're using more of the suspension travel.

R you giving it the berries and spining up the wheels or is it very wet and muddy ?
it could be the traction control cutting in and out
minr sounds kinda crunchy n rough
there again mine might be knackered and I am just a simple kind of bloke and dont know the difference!

Okay, thanks marksurry, I wondering if there would be a fault somewhere
Sorry, couldn't resist. Like I said in my previous post, I reckon it's just making lots of noise because you're using it in a more extreme way. In my humble opinion there is nothing to worry about and I think the noise will go away after a few more trips into the field.
