No squealing, steering has always been on the heavy side, there is what looks like a yellow shock absorber running at the front under the rad and fan...

Maybe, please educate me in what it looks like, i bought it from a guy who has all the work done to serious offroad but never did, so its got a 2" lift, uprated shocks etc

yes i have power steering, no leaks or at least nothing on the floor, some misting around the top of the power steering top up pot/res..

Hi All, Strange one, the steering on my 90 does not return to center after turning, i.e i have to take the amount of steering off after turning a corner.. Anything i can check before dropping her down at the garage? cheers Mark

Its the choke, TBH it is a bit of a pain, as you have to know how to pull out to start then remember to put back in, but not too much or it will stall at a junction etc etc, thats why she does not want todo it. All comes down to the last time she took it out, choke in too early, stalled at a...

So I think it will all depend if I can find a complete system, rather than trying to assemble myself, that way all the bits are there..

Is it really that simple? One the tank side I dont have the in tank fuel pump its already been replaced with an external one, what tools do I need to remove and fit the replacement plenum, is the air box any different..

So following on my quest with my V8, I would like to convert to EFI, but garages are not keen (i do have a kind offer of help from marccleave but he has a lot on his hands with his own project ;) ), a new edlebrock carb with auto choke might solve my wife not driving issue.. Anyone done this...

My other option is to bin the strombergs and fit a Edelbrock four barrel, which i have been led to believe has a electric fuel pump and no choke, so is far more wife friendly, which is again why i am doing this.. My wife will not drive the Defender due to the choke and fun from cold, hence its...

Thanks its a real pig esp when you have got to the bottom the road and the choke slides in and you cannot start it :).... Doubt a thief would get far ;)
