    did i need out else?

Someone posted this list of items to get from a plumbing supply shop: "The engine/gearbox wading plugs are 1/4 inch BSP thread, you can pick them up at the local Plumbers merchants for pennies. The axle breathers are 1/8 inch BSP, if you ask at your local hydraulics or pneumatics supplier you...

Yeah that happened on my old range rover classic, just had to slide the solonoid unit around a bit and cover everything in wd40 as you said.

I wouldn't worry about it mate. If we did something wrong then, oops sorry, we'll know next time, can't do anything about it now!

didnt know who else to ask........

My dad got some resin in a block from Harlfords for fixing fuel tanks - couldn't remember if it was a two parter or how it worked but came as a black stick like plastacine and you pack it on and add hardener or wait for it to dry, one of the two.....

    Got me some protection

I'm guessing it's fine but must be covered in mild steel particles from when it was cut out which is what's making it look nasty. Probably just needs a good buffing......

    Got me some protection

That's a good idea - I've got a metre square of stainless at home I could cut out and bolt on. At least I think it's stainless - it's been outside for months and has some rust on it so not entirely sure now.... :confused2:

    Got me some protection

Aye I only dented the wing and put an indicator out. Nothing serious (especially compared to some!) Just wanted an excuse to bolt a massive piece of metal on the front of my car.... haha Plus with the steering guard, one less thing to worry about buying...might have a go at breaking through the...

    Churping under bonnet

It shouldn't have much play in it at all - hard to quantify though. If you can easily move it more than 1cm on any axis I would say that's too much. Hopefulyl someone will correct me if I'm wrong! Mine was flapping around loads so was easy to tell!

    Got me some protection

After some of the damage sustained at the weekend, I bought my self a bullbar from fleabay - got a built in steering guard too which is nice!

Great pics! I'll get mine on this week. The Jimny did pretty well, I must admit I was surprised.... I smashed an indicator lens and dented my wing, should bash out so nowt too pricey for me. James' damage looked a bit worse so I can't complain.

    Diff lock stuck or not?????

Think of it like: Bottom-right (normal) high range, no diff lock Bottom-Left high range + diff lock Top-right Low range no diff lock Top-left Low range + diff lock.

Great day everyone, thanks to all and WLM for arranging again! Got my first bit of damage today but nothing serious. The missus is also once again upset at the filth on my car transferring onto her clothes so may have to wash it again tomorrow... I've got a load of pics so if someone starts a...

I've got a few mates coming too - a load of my mates were complaining about not being able to come due to lack of seats. Tough tit, go and buy yourself a landy and then you can come out whenever you like!

    Very annoying electrical problem

You can test the alternator with a multimeter. Set it to volts and start the car. Touch it on the posi and negi sides of the battery - it should read around 13.5-14.5 volts Check out: Diagnosing A Car Battery That Runs Down
