Never been one to name my cars, but the previous owner of mine was called 'Frank', the wife mis-heard me and thought I was talking about the Landy itself, 'yeah, it looks like a Frank' she said, and it kind of stuck....
No spacers needed with this offset. Handles fine, a bit more tram lining but nothing major. When I can be arsed to adjust the lock-stops I'll have more steering lock too.
The huge offset probably isn't doing the wheel bearings any good though ;)
Braved the cold and finally got round to fitting 2" extended arches.
Old ones removed, got poke? :D
New ones fitted (yes, that is some of Salisbury Plain's finest muddy water in my headlights still ;) )
Just waiting for the weather to improve now so I can paint...
Of course, my mistake. Yes, if one one rear wheel loses traction as well as a front wheel then the front and rear wheels without traction will just sit and spin.
That's exactly the reason - the power will always take the path of least resistance, hence if a wheel loses traction it'll just spin all the power away. The idea of a centre diff lock is if a rear or front wheel loses traction you will still have traction from one or both the remaining...
Try telling that to the misses for a week after :D
Starts fine now, but I'm sure it'll play up again if I go dunking it. Saying that, I've got some of that ACF50 on the way, so it might be OK.
Put me as a 'maybe' for now. I'd like to go, but still haven't sorted a spare and I really should get a new starter (or solenoid at least) before I go wading again. Oh, and some breathers.....
As above, check your UJs. I had similar sounds, which developed into a knocking then complete UJ failure, requiring me to replace the entire propshaft.
It goes when you push the clutch because you take the load off the drivtrain and it's just freewheeling.
I have a 1989 110csw fitted with a Disco 300tdi. Generally runs a treat but after a good wading session the starter motor decides not to play ball the next day, progressively getting better and more intermittent over the next three or four days until it's fine again. The solenoid clicks, but the...
