Removed the aircon & the rotor filter housing unit, it's still a tight squeeze to get the pump out !

It's all stripped down & new water pump is ready to go in , in the morning, worst part of stripping it down was removing the oil filter ! Regards Sean

Problem found ! I've just stripped out the water pump & the fins are not existant ! Pleased my thoughts seem to be right

Dave , coolest circuit has been bleed / checked, dropped all the coolest out & refilled, it does not seem to be circulating ! Even when engine is up to normal temp the top hose from the rad is hot & under pressure - yet the heater pipes are still cool !

Hi, no the 2 heater pipes are Luke warm chances are the heat off the engine is just warming them up !

Well new thermostat fitted today & cooling system flushed out, still just the same - going try the water pump next & a phone call or visit will be made to the former owner !

Fingers crossed ! Need the heaters working in this weather, going strip it off tomorrow and try a new thermostat, cheers for your reply.

Hoping for a bit of advice here, just bought a td5 on a 52 plate, drove it home about 80 miles last Saturday, everything seemed great, never moved it until today, as it was cold I swithched the heaters onto hi on both sides, to be greated, with cold air only, water in header tank is fine, levels...

can anyone shed some light on this problem, I have just renewed my freelander's front disc's & pads, everything was ok light wise before this change, now I have the 3 lights on the dash, abs,tc,hdc! - Im thinking that I may have damaged the n/s front abs / wheel sensor as the disc was solid on...

Try jumping the starter direct from the battery, I had this problem a while back & jumped the +terminal on the starter, cured ! ran a new heavy duty wire from the ignition to the starter , never failed since.

Well after lots of thought I have decided to break the disco for spares, 300tdi auto, 104000 miles, mint engine & box, alloys with brand new pirelli scorion tyres (on done about 500 miles), side steps etc, going to list it on fleebay ! If you need anything give me a pm.

I had a problem with mine squeeling, done the penny trick, still the same ! tried a new tensioner , same problem, put a new belt on, still squeeled. Later I found the belt was fraying, after more inspection, I found it was the power steering pump, replaced it & now it sounds like a new vehicle...
