    p38 tow bar question.

The tow bar electrics on my P38 are connected behind the drivers side rear light access panel. There is a plug which connects to the main loom, from which there are 7 wires which have been joined to the after market loom to the plug. Hope this helps. Job looks really simple to do. If you need a...

Range Rover Classic (1992) Brake Pump

    Buying P38

Hello, No Range Rover (Or ANY Landrover for that matter) will be completly without problems. I own a 4.6 P38 because I love it and nothing else seems to hit the spot for style and comfort. Things to look out for when you buy one: Suspension air bags - are they worn? (typically last about 70k...

    temperaure gauge driving me insane

Jorjio, Hope you are having some success. I can't comment on the situation with the air con running as my air con is currently fooked! (No pressure in system at all, so obviously I need to get mine checked for leaks). But as a rule, my temp guage never goes more than a couple of lines above the...

    touch wood

That does sound a little too optomistic! My 4.6 will do 350 miles on £100 of petrol (about 15-16mpg on average). That's why we own Range Rovers - to keep the fuel companies in buisness!

    temperaure gauge driving me insane

I recently has a similar problem on my 4.6. The temp guage did whatever it felt like doing and was driving me nuts! It turned out to be a bad earth connection in the engine bay. Have you replaced any of the battery cables? There is a well hidden earth connection behind the engine ECU on my 4.6.

    Range Rover Classic 3.9 EFi

Hi all, Since my purchase last year of my P38, my brother has been in awe of the Rangey (who can blame him for that!?:)). He has now decided (on a budget) to get a classic... :D I'll be getting the classic at mine tonight to carry out what looks to be a significant number of electrical faults...

    Buying P38

Hi, I bought a 1996 4.6 P38 last year as a second car. I won't say it was cheap to own to start with, but it was well worth it! I was lucky enough to get quite a low mileage one (74k at the time). Within the first few months I needed to get the suspension air bags replaced and then the head...

    Wheel choice...

Hello All. I was wondering if anyone could answer what must be a simple question? I have a P38 with 18" wheels. I was wondering if I could fit a set of 16" Discovery 1 wheels (with some good off-road tyres on). I have 1 disco wheel which I put on to see if it would fit, but I think I need...

    Tailgate open warning

I have now been able to investigate the above problem and it turned out to be a loose corroded connection in the lower half of the tailgate just next to the center lock mechanism. It was particularly easy to fix and normal running has rusumed in the rangie. Happy days! (Corrossion in a...

    Tailgate open warning

Hi all. I am plesed to report 1000 miles without a problem on the Rangie now :) (almost). It hasn't broken down or blown a gasket anyway! But just as I am getting used to trouble free working the Tailgate Open warning is coming up and bleeps annoyingly every time I pull away. Slamming the...

    LPG Conversions

I am just suffering the pain (time and financially) of having a new head gasket fitted on my P38 4.6. I am thinking that an LPG conversion might be the next big expense I lavish on it, but someone told me (who worked for a LR dealer a few years ago) that an LPG conversion will cook the heads due...
