could be something as simple as a blocked air filter, not allowing air flow and putting intake system under vaccum or just worn out rubber de-laminating :)

also could be boost pipes collapsing as vacuume generated by suction of engine can outweigh boost preassure of turbo, apologies if this is confusing

usually between air intake and turbo, as they are under vacuum when the turbo spools up :) if de-laminated, inside can collapse under the vacuum with no real visible sign from the outside

could still be head gasket, but from cylinder to water, which would give no scum on dipstick or oil filler cap, but would allow water to escape via combustion, good luck finding the fault :)

maby gasket not fitted correctly so when tank full seeping out around the in tank pump/sender unit, if only doing it when brimmed, otherwise could be seal on either feed or return pipe to sender unit.

Possibly cable outer loose and touching something, when cable pulled taught pulling away from a surface preventing rattle only thing I can think from description
