Hello all I'm thinking of goin to buildwas pay and play day on the 6th jan. it's my first pay and play in my disco. Have done a bit of offloading a few years ago in friends vehicles so not a total newbie. Just wanting to go and have a little play around to test everything works as it should...

Yes the previous posts are correct I am an rac patrol and discos are to over weight to be towed. However as far as I'm aware there is no risk of damage towing with both boxes in neutral just the weight issue.

What are u missing to stop it running? do u have a spark to the plugs or to the centre of the dizzy? Do u have an injection pulse? I killed my disco 1 v8 the other day after jet washing the engine bay. Ran perfect then I turned it off to tidy up and then it wouldn't restart, it turned out to be...

I don't think they have made a landy yet that's not accessible by chop stick. Iv only got a v8 disco but I'm still worried about it vanishing one night.

Welcome mate. Nice to see someone local I'm only in wordsley. Hope u have fun in ur new purchase. But I'd keep it under lock and key at the moment there are quite a few tales of landys being nicked lately in this area.

I think it's beyond repair the whole sill inner and outer has just crumbled once I started. And it's similar the other side. I'm gonna throw in the towel. If I put many more plates or repairs on it will weight about 5 tonne.

Iv found a fault in the past due to a sticking low pressure diesel pump(pre supply pump) . Depending on the age I think it's under the nsr wheel arch. next time it doesn't start it might be worth either locating the pump and giving it a knock, u should be able to hear the pump running when u put...

The only thing I can think of is something iv come across in the past. Not on a lr though is a loose or knackered knock sensor. That was retarding the timing at certain times. Bit of a log shot but might be worth a look. Hope u get to the bottom of it.

Thanks for all the info. I was goin to remove the tank just wandered about the removal. By the tank there is a solinoid looking part. Should I remove the tank from this point. I'll put some photos on in a min to make it a little more visable.
