i did mine using a bit of straight pipe and 2 63 mm straight couplers and clamps,very easy job and noticeable fuel economy increase,i also did the silencer at the same time makes a bit more sporty note Gareth

Check the battery,i had a similar problem with mine,would turn over for ages before starting got the battery tested at halfrauds and it wasnt holding a full charge,got a new one and hey presto starts on the button again Gareth

i would check the obvious stuff first,intercooler pipes they collapse inside and restrict air flow,AAP sensor in the air filter box,give it a clean with contact cleaner,MAP sensor in inlet manifold gets clogged up with oil.also check the wastegate on turbo see if its not seized up.fuel pressure...

Evening all,just curious about the 2.5 bmw engine injector pump,is the pump the same on all the engines,ie omega,bmw and range rover throughout the years of production or was there a change at anytime,i only ask because ive been offered a recon one from a 95 omeaga at a reasonable price...

when you changed the loom did you clean out the red plug on the ecu,even when its cleaned out you might find oil keeps getting back up to the plug from the residue left in the engine loom.might also be worth taking the cover off the ecu and check for contamination in there ive done a couple now...

Quick update,before decat 22/24 mpg around town,after 26/28 and being getting 34 on motorway,this has been checked tank to tank and not relying on the computer,so has definatly been a worth while mod.i wonder has anyone tried removing the rear silencers and running a straight through pipe any...

just read this thread looking for a solution to a similar problem with the rsw solutions software.i was getting allsorts of dodgy readings and faults,seems mine is not synced with the ecu i will check again tommorow after trying to reset it all. cheers gazz

got the bits from local exhaust parts supplier,mines a diesel so just used 4 straight couplers,standard clamps and a bit of straight pipe,now i know its all ok i will weld all the joints and remove the clamps,will look a nice job then,cant see the v8s being much different so long as the cats can...

check out td5 alive,dont go down the piggyback chip route,ive had both now and currently run a stage 2+remap large intercooler,exhaust and hybrid turbo and never had a problem,td5 alive will check all sensors on engine before doing a remap and wont do it if there are any problems with it until...

ir i recall correctly,they have 7 possibly 8 wires,live and earth and an on off wire,the rest just piggyback onto the 5 yellow wires coming from red plug on the back of the ecu,i removed mine a long time ago and got a proper remap from td5 alive,before you do fit it take off the cover to the psi...

try going through the bleed/purge process a couple of times,also check the fuel pressure regulator rear of engine under the inlet manifold for leaks this is a very common problem and would show the symptoms you describe,would also account for the noisey pump.
