    Tow bar woes...

Quick update on this one and it's good news :) A chap on another forum has a 2a Marshall and he made a tow bar. He's successfully pulled a dirty great caravan with it and no problems. The most I'll be pulling is a 5 foot long trailer (single axle lightweight job) so shouldn't have any...

    Tow bar woes...

Checked out that bracket... no good for my purpose sadly :( I asked a couple of the mechanics who knew the part straight away. They checked over the rear of the body and it is 100% not suitable sadly... I have just a reply off a guy on another forum who has made two towing brackets for his...

    Tow bar woes...

I can possibly do even better than looking at it on the webpage ;) I've got to take a little visit to Craddocks tomorrow morning so I'll ask to see it there. They are literally only 5 minutes drive away from me :) I will check the webpage too though. Many, many thanks for this. Take care...

    Tow bar woes...

Certainly :) I have to get some done for my insurance so, assuming the infernal rain does stop over the weekend.... I shall take some pic's then. As a rough guide the actual overhang is not that much. I'd say something like 6 to 10 inches max. The biggest problem is that there is a...

    Tow bar woes...

Ah well, it was worth a try :) Thank you for looking. Take care. Kevan ps. I've got about 6 bag fulls of various magazines (must be at least 60 or 70 in total) that I'm steadily going through myself. They date from the late 90's to earlier this year (Jan). Finger's crossed I may spot...

    Tow bar woes...

Cheers :) I'm pretty sure I'm not the first to want to fit a tow bar to one of these so there must be a solution... Appreciate the help. Take care. Kevan

    Tow bar woes...

Hi everybody :-) Finally I am back in the fold after 8 years of Land Rover limbo (that was when I sold my 96 ES Discovery). I am now the proud and rather crazy owner of a 2a Marshall ambulance bodied Land Rover. I would like to fit a tow bar to it but...how? The overhang on this body has a...

Bodywork - can I do this....?

I've been led to believe that the steering lock is called a chain through the steering wheel and then through a door post.... :) Good as anything and probably better than most factory fitted steering locks.

Bodywork - can I do this....?

That sounds just about perfect to me...barring one thing. It's about 400 miles+ too far away :( Thank you for thinking of me with that one though. Now, if only the same or similar could be somewhere down here instead... I should explain. I'm riddled with arthritis so can't travel very far...

Bodywork - can I do this....?

Ah, that's good news then :) It certainly opens up my options. Thank you for that the advice is very much appreciated. Kevan

Bodywork - can I do this....?

Hmm, I thought this may be the case :( So, what is the possibility of fitting say a van type body to a pick LR? Not just an enclosed back but a full top half taking the front cab off? If I do get a SWB then I may need to remove the front passenger seat in order to carry equipment inside the LR.

Bodywork - can I do this....?

Hi everybody. I don't currently own a Landy (I previously purchased a Disco 2.5 ES back in 1996 brand new...I was very unhappy with the finish and the service from my local official LR dealership). Despite that from the last sentence I still love Landies but especially older series models...

    Hi everybody

Ah tax :) what's that then? ;) I suppose I do have the choice of getting a Defender. I could run it without road tax perfectly legally. You see I'm on DLA high rate for both mobility and care. I wish I wasn't but I am (at 45 I'm totally riddled with arthritis and broke my ankle just by...

    Staffordshire Series owners?

Are there any Series owners on here that live in Staffordshire? I'm curious as I am on the look out for a late Series 2a or very early Series 3 LWB diesel and would like to know what to look for and what the pitfalls are likely to be. Basically, I love older Landy's :) I have owned a Disco'...

    Hi everybody

Hi everybody. I thought I'd better be polite and say hello. I'm not currently a Landy owner but I am looking for one. In the past I have owned a Disco' which I bought brand new back in 1996. Yes, I did take it off road and I was amazed at it getting up a 45 degree grass and mud incline on...
