    Caliper pistons and seals

As said above, for seals, buy genuine AP seals only. Have been caught out by both All Makes and Britpart.... Terrible, unusable, unsafe parts - hugely out of tolerance. AP ones arrived and the difference was enormous. The price difference wasn't.

    Defender90 drivers comfort modifications help.

If you say where you are maybe you could try out some options.... I'm 6'1 and have fitted the std LR bulkhead removal bar and MGF seats.... Works for me though would like a smaller steering wheel but quite like the original style.

Only 10 years to go - tax exempt

I see that the government has reintroduced the rolling tax exempt status.... But now rather than 25 years it is 40 years..... So mine ought to be exempt in a little over 10 years. What is the likelihood that this rolling exemption will actually keep on rolling beyond the next change of govt?

Fan damage to boost hose in new Defender 90 - anyone else had this?

Assuming it has come about from an assembly variation and not from a design revision it takes time for the dealer to claim back their labour / parts costs from LR and then their warranty analyst to spot the claim spike. Or a dealership has to raise it with the LR quality liason team. 3...

I bet somebody spent a lot of time and money designing this dash

I'd say yes too. The original loses way too much volume with the built in air ducting. As mud and raptor have proven there is clearly demand for a centre console and space for speakers..... So yeah- better design could make this a saleable product.... Was thinking about it myself too but it's...

I bet somebody spent a lot of time and money designing this dash

It's got potential, but given the effort that has already gone in, it's a shame they didn't give the aesthetics a little more thought. Real shame...

Exmoor trim for one Can you not just use one of the many retrim kits out there? New foam & coverings = an almost new set of seats.

    What Torque Wrench?

Eh? In days gone by, calibration was done on a fixed bench dial gauge. Nowadays with modern technology the calibration systems are all electronic strain gauges linked to PCs for conformity recording and certification. Just because a technology is tried and tested it doesn't mean that it...

    Defender 110 Help Value

You'll not get a useful response here. As you say, so many variables. Just look at what is out there and price accordingly. Your guess is as good as anyone... A few k. My guess somewhere between 2 and 3.5k.

    What Torque Wrench?

Anyone thoughts on these? ebay link to digital torque device All the big brands like facom do them now but machine mart and ebay chuck them out for as little as £35.

    Painting Brake Callipers

I did the front calipers with jenolite.... But have since moved on to bilt hamber deox-c for submersible parts and then their hydrate 80 for an undercoaty type protection. Google their stuff - very popular and a lot of very positive feedback amongst the forums. Gotta say though, I put a...

Defender 6x6 got it yesterday needs a clean

Awesome. So where are you all going in it? And how did you arrive at a cost? Was it from the original family who had it built? Again... Awesome!

    Painting Brake Callipers

If you do a proper refurb job, paint em. After chipping off the crud, bead blasting and then chemical treatment, the castings look terrible and are prone to further corrosion. Racing colours are a tad too far, but the dull red hammerite looks good behind the alloys IMHO.

    What Torque Wrench?

That sealey one looks like a good deal. No doubt it isvery similar to all the other priced ones from argos/ machine mart and will do fine so long as its not abused. Personally I don't think you can buy better than the halfords ones - especially if you can buy it on a trade card with 20%...

    Stop the indian defender

It'll happen as soon as the marketing bods decide that people would still buy a land rover without the 'made in Britain' badge. RR could save a fortune by building abroad but are clear that no one would buy a foreign built rolls. Trouble is, I doubt that the general LR buyer is discerning...

    Aaron's 90 rebuild (Round 2)

Goes to show how rubbish yahoo is. Why not use google like the rest of the world? First result... But on topic, great work Aaron. White roof! How did you prep the arches.... Anything different done to the paint to stop it flaking on the flex?
