I was wondering is it possible to get a Roof Rack and ladder for the 5 Dr Freelander since thinking it would make a good high platform when shooting.

Yep its a Disco running gear with Freelander body but a good invention by the looks of it.

Mines a K series 1.8 petrol so not in a hurry to get the engine wet. Mind you its only mud on the engine so wont bother cleaning it since will only get more next outing I expect.

I was wandering the same since my engine is a bit muddy but think I'll pass in that case. After all its only mud it will brush off eventually.

Just a silly question but would I need to get bigger wheels as well as tyres or would just bigger tyres on standard wheel with lift kit work? Although think I'll just opt for under body protection at present before I start lifting it since the current Geolander AT tires are near new.

Took my standard 1.8 Freelander off road and managed to keep up with the others who all had Defenders with 4" lifts Mud tyres and off road kit. Managed 25 miles of the Ox Drove and Shaftesbury Drove with a fair amount of grounding out to start with but had to give in when every 20M I was...

Sorry for thread revival but Mantec don't seem to make a sump guard for a 1998 Freelander 1 on there site only Freelander 2?

Would you sell for £50 with delivery? Also has it got all the electrics and ball?

I'm after a tow bar for my 1998 Freelander 1. E-Bay has a few but thought I may get one cheaper from like minded folk on hear.

Sorry for thread revival but fancy taking mine off road and been warned against it since it only has the standard tow points which I'm told would probably pull out if tugged too hard so been told I would have to fit a tow bar and jate ring on the front which apparently you cant do and sump...

Can you replace it or is it a new fuel pump/sender unit?

Since having the new clutch hydraulics its like a new car. But the vibration/knocking is still there on cornering so have ordered new rear diff mounting kit since it cant be anything else.

I have similar issue with my gauge. It had a new filter fitted then only read from full to 1/2 and anything after 1/2 read empty. Yet today after filling it up it now still reads empty. Can you buy just the fuel sender switch thing on the pump or do I need to replace the whole pump?

Freelander just passed MOT without fault and had new clutch hydraulics fitted. Only thing he could find that may make a noise from rear was prop shaft not fully tightened up? Just joined a local 4x4 club so may as well see what it can do off road before I make any rash ideas about selling it...

Do hope they find the problem and its an easy fix since getting cheesed off with the Freelander. Must admit I have just found a local 4x4 club that takes Freelanders so may finally get to use it properly rather than just going across fields when shooting.

The garage I bought it from is where its going to and he is well into his Land Rovers (Disco, Range Rover, 90's Ect..) but not had a lot of dealings with Freelander until he rebuilt this one he sold to me. I have asked him to also check the rear differential mounts, chassis mounts and sub frame...
