Lifting body won't make any odds as just body being lifted from chassis, I'm running baily Morris from Glynn Lewis but they can be found cheaper else where, best bet is to do lift and see what it runs like, if you then get rumblings after lifting then its time for wide angles chris.

The gearbox will need an adapter search ebay for Milner ring they usually come up, but will be close to bulkhead and may need some fettling to fit, or just get a proper v8 box but you will need to weld the engine mounts to the correct place

Don't know what the issue is with it leaking oil, all landys do it, it's like a dog marking its territory :p, as for the rest sounds like you got a good en:D

Prob nowt wrong with tbox, sounds like play on output shaft of gearbox and tbox input gear, some times you can get away with just replacing input gear.

Worn splines on output shaft of gearbox will cause what's happening, undo pto cover on tbox and you will be able to see the play in the output shaft and tbox input gear. Two fixes 1, new gearbox and input gear 2, if your lucky and the main shaft isnot worn to bad, a new drilled input gear
