    Diff gear wear / sealant

It's the diff that's leaking from just behind the flange. I only mentioned stub axles in the last post as JamesMartin said it could be that in my other post... am I confused?

    Diff gear wear / sealant

Ok, so I check the breather, change the flange and it still leaks, it's likely the stub axles? Any thoughts on condition of the drive gear in the photos? the sealant was on the drive gear and flange. I wondered if it was a botch due to too much play causing the leak?

    Door striker

So, looking again tonight with a fresh head on, I could see the b-post flexing and the hinge twisting as the door made contact. Braces with timber behind the b-post off the rear bulkhead, works a treat!

    Axle oil seal

I made a new post a min ago, so maybe better info there. But this is the rear axle, so I don’t have stub axles... ? I’ll check the breather though!

    Diff gear wear / sealant

swapped the seal over on the rear axle. When I took off the flange, it had white sealant(?) all over it and all over the drive gear. I cleaned this up and reassembled with the new seal It’s now ****ing oil out more oil than before I swapped the seal! So I am guessing the sealant was doing...

    Door striker

Yeh ripped off the door seals last night so i’d Have a better chance of aligning. But still no luck! I think it’s just the catch not aligning with the mechanism. Maybe I knocked it when I was putting in new seats. But I can’t get it to line up again!

    Door striker

Hinges are all new. Doors were rebuilt. Spent ages getting everything lined up and shutting nicely, so I don’t know what’s changed. I tested the latch with my high tech screwdriver and all works nice and smoothly. I just don’t think it’s catching the latch for some reason.

    Axle oil seal

My G reg 90 has a rear axle with disc brakes. I was told it was off a disco, but no evidence. I do have a 300tdi conversion (out a disco) too, so maybe done at the same time. I'm getting a big oil leak from behind the flange, so I need to replace the oil seal. But question is, what part...

    Door striker

Passanger door was all good and fine, then out of the blue, it is bouncing off the x-trouser striker. I've spent the last two hours 'adjusting' trying to get it back how it was, but having no luck! If I manage to get it to catch, it doesn't pull the door in properly. A little more adjustment...

    rear flex brake hose

I think I maybe have the answer... Is the nut just there to hold the flexi on a chassis bracket? And then I do a single flare on the brake pipe to connect to the flat face of the flexi?

    rear flex brake hose

I have the flexi pipe (part 7 as shown in first post). My question relates to the end of this which is flat, not domed. I assume the dome head goes into the T section. Its where the flat face connects in to the pipe as shown here that is my question. THis part number (part 9) is just a nut...

    rear flex brake hose

Just picked up part number NRC9455. but one end came with a flat end, rather than the dome i'm used to (that the other end has). Is this correct? How does it fit into the existing pipe? Looking at part number 9 (CRC1487) it is just a plain nut, not a brake fitting at all.....

    brake pedal adjust?

Yeh ok, that's what I was wondering. But I couldn't find anything in the workshop manuals I have (checked each edition that I have) in respect to adjusting the master cylinder.... so if I adjust the rod in there, it should sort the 'hitting the floor' issue. I'm also going to bleed the...

    brake pedal adjust?

There is a lot of travel on the pedal before I get any hardening of the pedal. I think I may have a bit of air left in the system, but I would have still thought the pedal would have been higher up before it works? Adjusted up? Do you mean dry brakes? They are discs on the back as it’s a disco...

    brake pedal adjust?

New brake servo and master cylinder. New brake pipes to the front, but discs and pads haven't been changed (good condition). Brake pedal travels a long way before the brakes come on. The pedal actually hits the floor! I've bled the brakes several times and doesn't seem to have any more air in...
