mix a little fairy liquid with water and pour it into a squirty bottle (you know the ones i mean, the ones with a trigger) spray onto glass then apply the tint, this way you can move the tint around on the glass to get it right, then squeegie the water and bubbles out, works a treat :)

when my tacho and speedo did the same things as your desecribing, it turned out to be the alternator. Is the there oil over the back of it where the wiring is?

how much fuel is in the tank? I may be wrong here, because I cant quite remember when I did the job, but doesnt the p38 fuel tank sit underneath predominantly on the drivers side? which would make the n/s sit higher, so if you had a full tank, maybe the electronic gubbins worked with the air...
