I reckon it would be easier to put a 300 in using an lt77 box like I'm about to do using one of these Landrover 90 Defender 200-300 Tdi Engine Mount Conversion No Welding | eBay Just a case of modifying the bell housing then to fit into the 90 instead of changing tranny tunnel etc for an R380.

So I didn't win the 200tdi last nigh. So I scoured eBay last night and I must have seen around 10 300 tdi discovers between Plymouth and Somerset for less that £700. Am I right in thinking the only difference between fitting a 200 and 300 is that I have to cut and weld the engine mounts? Cheers...

Thanks for all the replies everyone. Getting pretty excited now I should have done it before I put the Landy on the road seeing as it was sat from December through to June. But I kept telling myself that the 2.5 petrol couldn't be that bad, which in all fairness it isn't really, broken down...

When my 2.5 had the same symptoms after a real heavy fog I was driving in, it was my coil had shorted out.

I wave to all Defenders and Series and tend to always get a response from them and most d1/2s. But living near Salcombe by this time of year most newer models are for yacht towing duties only and certainly aren't fitted with a reverse gear or a driver capable of operating such a machine! :mad:

Marked up the holes for my spotlights on the bumper till I sort my a bar out. Then decided to rust proof the load bed with a gallon of chainsaw oil! :mad:

Followed this with a fair bit of interest. Well done on the refurb, makes me feel a bit silly now for not spending a bit more on mine instead of rushing to get it driving. Again well done though.

Yea was the dizzy not the diff, stupid iPad auto spell. Surely the extra torque from the tdi and an extra 30 ish horsepower isn't the same sort of performance? I'm not asking for a rocket ship just something less thirsty. I just would like to know if I should buy the 300 and risk it being...

Yea, just a shame about its terrible addiction to petrol.

Mileage around 103,000 can get 50-60 on most flats after a long time, had over 70 down hill. Fires up lovely first turn of the key every morning with a big puff of not so good blue smoke.
