    Series 2 Galvanised Chassis swap?

Why not repair the original chassis and sell the replacement ? It is virtually guaranteed the original is not beyond repair, and being a 1959 vehicle it is rarer than any other Series model and ought to be left as original as possible to maintain it’s value .

Series 2 Renovation required - Swindon

Series 2’s were produced from 1958 to 1961 and 2a’s from 1961 to 1971 . If it actually was registered in 1960 then it will be a Series 2 .

    Factory accessory welder generator?

The best known one is owned by Richard Lines . These pages are from the book “ Original Land Rover Series One “ by James Taylor . Unfortunately it was seriously damaged in a barn fire in 2019 . Whether it is being rebuilt is a question I can’t answer .

Much advice needed! (WARNING, NEWBIE IDIOT!!!!)

Don’t ask me , you’re the mechanic . However, I do know that the Series 2a was build between 1961 and 1971 and as this one is dated to 1966 , and it falls between these two dates it is fairly safe to assume that it is a 2a. I believe it is not unknown for 2a’s to have Series Three wings put on...

Much advice needed! (WARNING, NEWBIE IDIOT!!!!)

That’s a 2a. Series 2s ran from 1958 to 1961 , and are rarer that 2a because there are fewer around . Why were the floors rotten , as they should be made of aluminium ?

Photos of 7.50r16 with wheel spacers

Well, I’m sure you know that there is a difference in the width of Series One axles and Series Two and Three axles , so it is not a given what the vehicle is . My 107” has a Series Three rear axle and 30mm spacers on the front , so it is not unreasonable to ask for more information .

    canvas tilt

Do you know what make it is ? If it is Exmoor Trim then it could easily have been made wrong . The only way you could find out if it were meant for an 86” is to put it on an 86”. If it wasn’t put on properly when it was new and was allowed to shrink when it got wet then that might be the reason...

    Series 1 109 Engine Conversion - 2.25p or 200DI

My 107” Series One tray back now has an ACR 2.25l petrol engine after breaking its original 2l . It has certainly got a lot more poke than the old engine and can keep up with modern traffic . However, it is not like a normal 2.25l . The fuel consumption is definitely not great . Before...
