Good Effort! Interestingly - there was a recall on Rave with regards correct adjustment of Difflock switch - sure enough when i bought mine years ago (cheap - "cos transfer box is knackered, mate....") - guess what was wrong!!

does the noise disappear under braking - could be the anti-rattle shims or back plate disintegrated on the front pads - that what caused mine.

This was mine - made up new metal end caps to replace the plastic. Gonna make a few more changes shortly, tho...

looks good - thats just shown me what to do with mine when ive finished the new winch bumper!! Cracking effort!

I'd check the front propshaft UJ's for wear first. although - got a similar noise on mine - caused by the (lack of) anti-rattle shims on the front brake pads (old ones disintegrated last week when i changed the pads! thats tomorrows job!

depends how thin the CB is - mine fits a treat!!

certainly sounds like a bad earth to me - or (if fitted) dodgy/corroded towbar socket/wiring

Ive done a few like this - changing the gearbox oil can make a huge difference. re the "rough spot" - this could be the common misfire from oil in the engine loom - do a search on here, theres loads of info! the low-range issue sounds like seized linkages - again, a search on here will...

Bought cheap as a part-ex from friends car sales pitch with a "broken gearbox" - replaced the missing washer under the difflock switch (dealer recall notice - thanks Rave!!) - used it and loved it ever since. Other Landys have come and gone in the >6 years i've had the Disco, but this one...

Ive got a switch on the dash, but it also triggers from the reverse lights too - all through relays and separate feeds.

Full service, new cambelt and tensioners, made up and fitted new CB aerial mount, cleaned out sedimenter. Even left the works car at home and drove it to work tonight! Tomorrow - replace front tyres and rear metal brake pipes
