and yet again !!!!!...vibration at speed

Front wheel imbalance is usually felt through the steering wheel. Rear wheel imbalance is normally felt through the vehicle itself, so this could be a sensible place to start your investigation. Make sure all wheel nuts are secure too. (Don't ask me how I know ......)

Land Rover Indy mechanics in Hampshire?

Can anybody recommend an independent Landy mechanic / garage in Hampshire, ideally in the South East of the county? Any firsthand experiences of indy services in this area would be welcome. Ta. :)

    Wave Etiquette

I find that fellow Tractor drivers all seem to wave, whether they're in Defenders, Series or even 101s. Defender drivers don't wave back. Period. Range Rover drivers don't see me, or pretend not to. Fact. Gaylander drivers are too busy on the phone / applying make-up / holding onto their...

Is it worth fitting smaller tyres?

265/75R16 Goodrich All Terrain T/As. For normal road use, which will probably be nearly all the time for the foreseeable future :(, I'm thinking of replacing them with a set of 750/16s fitted to original fitment steel wheels. Langers, I take your point about tread patterns and the effect...

Is it worth fitting smaller tyres?

Good. :) I'm beginning to think that I might well do the downsizing (if I can source some that are cheap enough). I've rarely seen a working Landy with big wheels/tyres fitted. Farmers seem mostly to be content with standard issue wheel/tyre combos (I could be wrong), or perhaps big wheels...

Is it worth fitting smaller tyres?

I forgot to say that after I downsize the tyres, I'll be having me bits inverted. After I've chosen new cushion fabric and curtains for me Tractor of course. Not. ;)

Is it worth fitting smaller tyres?

My 90 TD5 hardtop came to me with 265/75R16s fitted on steel wheels, and very nice they are too. I understand that they are a popular 'upgrade' but I have no idea what the standard wheel/Tyre combination was actually like for mostly road use. So my question is this: as I am unlikely to venture...

What have you done to your Landie today.

This I now understand :) I had checked battery connections and fuses etc but the wiring to the starter was alien territory until Mr RAC pointed it out to me with a torch and long metal poking thing. Useful knowledge for the future I thought. Not helped by my being slightly disabled too...

Does anyone actually offer help here?

A friend of mine runs an early Disco on cooking oil. He gets regular 'donations' of used oil from a local chippy, the village Chinky, and the Yacht Club down the road. He swears that the Disco performs better when using the Yacht Club stuff. Wojafink?

What have you done to your Landie today.

I bloody cursed my 90 today - when I returned to the car park it wouldn't start. Battery? A bloke in a HiLux wouldn't let me jump start it off his wagon as he was in a hurry (bless him). So I called Mr RAC who arrived in less than 10 minutes!!! Straight away he reached into the engine...
